A hike and some pool time = great Saturday!

The boys needed haircuts pretty badly so we headed over to our favorite place to get them a little style.

Afterwards, it was still pretty early and they were calling for a hot day, in the 90s, so we wanted to head outside while it was still cool.  There's a great park on that side of town that we had not been to in years, so we parked the car and went for another spontaneous hike.

We had a great time, throwing rocks, talking to dogs, playing on the playground and hiking the trails.  The highlight was definitely the big bamboo forest the boys found.  There were trails that led to a small clearing in the middle.  They played in there, chasing each other and popping out at different spots, for a long time.
An older gentleman was walking and told me to be careful for poison ivy since he had seen a lot.  I told him that at least poison ivy would heal, I was so happy they weren't sitting around watching TV!

Boys should be sweaty and dirty from playing the woods.  Boys should throw rocks and gumballs in the lake.  Boys should get scratched up from exploring bamboo forests!

We were beat by the time we headed back to the car.

After lunch and naps, the boys and I stayed in the pool until dinner.  They like to play basketball, make waves and whirlpools!  I also puled the dogs in to get cooled off.  What a great way to spend a hot summer Saturday!
