Reading Night at the Diamond

Braden read 8 books in March for a free ticket to the Flying Squirrels Baseball game on Wed!  All the kids who completed the reading, got to walk the entire ball field in a parade led by Nutsy himself.  It was really neat.  I'd never been on the field before.  Tyler loved Nutsy and we had to keep him from running across the field to go see him.

Waiting below the stadium for the parade to start.

There's Nutsy!
Parade in front of the scoreboard.
Walking the field.

When we got there is was really hot and we had to buy a couple of slushees to cool us down.  It worked and the rest of the night was really fun!

Watching the game.

Ty danced between innings and played with his brother, his stegosaurus and anyone else who would look at him.

B almost caught at least one foul ball.  Man, he was mad he missed it, one was really close!

Ty also caught sight of a Blue Gnome selling drinks and said,

"Look, Mommy, its Gnomeno!"  (from his favorite movie, Gnomeo and Juliet.)

He was so excited and tried to wave to him from across the stadium.  He was convinced the Gnome had seen him wave from a quarter mile away.

Watching for Gnomeo and Nutsy.

Waiting for a foul ball... or waving to Gnomeo again, who knows?

We left before the game was over.  The boys were exhausted.

Getting tired of looking for those foul balls.

Aaaaand, ready to go!
It was a great middle of the week event!  But it does mean the boys have missed their bedtime 3 nights in a row.  Tomorrow should be interesting!
